Biography

Ingvill Gaarder (b. 1973) is a visual artist based in Tau, Ryfylke. She was educated at Chelsea College of Arts, University of the Arts London, where she earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Fine Art (1994–99), as well as at the Bergen School of Art (1992–94). Her work has been exhibited at venues including Rogaland Kunstsenter, Tou Scene, the Institute of Contemporary Arts (London), and The Living Art Museum, Reykjavik (Iceland). Gaarder is a member of the Norwegian Visual Artists Association (NBK), NBK Rogaland, and the Norwegian Painters’ Association (LNM). She has received grants from, among others, the Nordic Institute for Contemporary Art, the Government Grants for Visual Artists in Norway, and the King Sturge Art Award, London.
